Making an app do all of the work for you, calculating taxes and rates has never been easier!
I created a new app called CalQ. You can calculate sales taxes, sales discounts, tips and how to split your bill with others. There are many apps similar to CalQ but most do not take advantage of Apple technologies to make a dynamic app. There are 3 main things that make this app efficient for the users.
1. User Interface. The apps design is a critical part to the overall user experience. many apps like CalQ are dry and poorly designed. CalQ has a clean and a modern User interface that feels natural to the touch. To navigate through the app, just swipe between calculators. Having a simple look from a consistent blended schema, to the glow of every touch of a button, enhances the overall user experience.
2. Flexibility. Tax rates changes overtime and varies in different cities in the United States. Most apps require you to input your cities tax rate before you use it. But what if the tax rate in your city changes or visit another state? CalQ takes advantage of Apple technologies with GPS capabilities and will use your location so see where you are in the United States and automatically enters in the tax rate into your settings. You don’t have to do anything, it just works.
3. Accessibility. It is likely that you would only use this app for quick calculations. And if you are like most iPhone users, we have a collection of apps that sometimes are very hard to navigate through. We access the default Apple calculator by swiping up to control center and using the calculator shortcut. Now with iOS 9, you can add CalQ as a widget into your notification center and make quick calculations without launching the CalQ app. It’s that simple.
